
Powerful, melodious, anointed, and highly favored are four words that describe Debi Dixon.
“I believe I have been called to govern, train, and develop singers’ voices for ministry, in the body of Christ.” Debi’s primary focus is to strengthen voices, to build structure and order while enhancing the music ministry within the church.
She uses the ministry of Praise and Worship her parents instilled in her as a child. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she began her journey of ministry at the tender age of five; along with seven other siblings born to the late Bishop Alfred and Mother Constance Dixon. Her credentials are not limited to just the Gospel genre; Debi has amassed a wide spectrum of audiences utilizing her gift in the area of Classical and Jazz forums. Her love for music has given her a wide range of experience in many venues of art, but her love for God has kept her worshipping Him with the music He has planted inside her heart and in her spirit.
Debi has over 30 years of professional training from various universities and institutions worldwide. Debi has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Voice Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting and Illustration from East Carolina University in Greenville NC, and an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design from Philadelphia College of Art located in Philadelphia, PA.
Debi’s gifts of voice and worship have allowed her to work with over 35 pastors and congregations in the United States denominations ranging from Lutheran, Southern Baptist, Apostolic, Progressive Baptist, Non-Denominational, Church of God in Christ and Episcopalian. Globally, she has ministered and toured in areas such as Japan, Germany, Russia, Italy, United Kingdom, Central America, Jamaica, Switzerland, Romania, Africa and Puerto Rico.
It is quite evident that because Debi has ministered in various venues from small intimate churches to large arenas, with the world-renowned evangelist Rhine Hart Bounky, Bishop Donn Thomas, Bishop Noel Jones and Paula White.
Debi has shared the stage with Grammy and Stellar Award winners, the late Daryl Coley, Richard Smallwood, the late Pastor Timothy Wright, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Tye Tribbett, JJ. Harrison, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Don Moen, Andre’ Crouch, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Helen Baylor, Vickie Yohi, Rev. Bobby Jones, Pastor William Murphy, Bishop Paul Morton, and many more. She was blessed to have been nominated for Best Female Vocalist, and Album of the Year at the 2005 and 2009 Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards.
Adding to her rich musical life, in 2015, Debi toured to Switzerland where she performed 14 concerts through Zurich and other surrounding cities there. She’s traveled to Italy and several areas of Tokyo, Japan; where she ministered in 22 tours, also conducted and trained for the late Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Asia in Okinawa, Japan as well as being featured on 4 recordings with Reverend Andre’ Reynolds and TPW Ministries of Birmingham, Alabama. She has also been blessed to travel to Romania in recent years completing 3 tours under the ministry that she has birthed entitled Ecclesia Global Ministries.
Her vast discography has given her the honor of performing before Ambassadors, Presidents, and Kings. In May of 2016, Debi was honored to be featured at the White House for National Day of Prayer under the first African American president, President Barak Obama. To add to the success of Debi’s Music Ministry, she is also a gifted visual artist and author. She is a highly sought-after musical lecturer and worship leader extraordinaire, conducting workshops, and just using her talents and gifts to pour into others to uplift the kingdom of God.
In 2018, Debi coordinated a global project “The Colors of Your Grace” bringing together worshippers from Nigeria, Japan and several parts of the United States. From that project she released her 1st single (Spring 2019), entitled “No Longer Slaves” produced by Will Gamble and Stanley Brown. Her 2nd single release (Fall 2020) entitled “The Colors of Your Grace” was written and performed by Debi Dixon represents all cultures and expresses unity and commonality in such a divided world.
